Cincinnati Elite FC to Join Midwest Development League (MDL) in 2019-2020 season.
June 3rd, 2019
Cincinnati Elite FC is proud to announce that our club will be increasing our commitment to the National Premier League (NPL) by joining the Midwest Development League (MDL), a part of the National Premier Leagues (NPL) for the coming 2019-2020 season. Cincinnati Elite FC was chosen due to our on-field performance, commitment to player development, and our overall club philosophy. We will be participating with our Boys Elite Teams in the U13-U19 age groups this coming season.
This continued relationship will allow us the opportunity to also place our Boy’s Gold and Girl’s Teams (u13-u19 age groups) into the Great Lakes Alliance (GLA) also part of the National Premier League (NPL). Greatly increasing the regional exposure and experience to more of our players within our club.
“This is another important step to our “Club Feel” and individual player development for all the young athletes. The league will continue to allow us to access different players within the club on different squads to play in multiple environments. As Cincinnati Elite FC players grow and develop, Cincinnati Elite FC and NPL will have wide open doors for them to showcase their individual game at their own pace throughout the year. We have been extremely happy with our NPL experience, as teams travel and play together it allows for a superior player experience for everyone…including the parents” – Alex Rawlings (Director)
Cincinnati Elite FC and National Premier League (NPL) philosophy closely match. The NPL was created to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape. NPL leagues are unified under one national competition platform and based on a common technical framework.
- Focused on long-term player development
- Allow consistent, meaningful high-level games appropriately scheduled with higher training-to-game ratios and eliminate calendar congestion
- Designed and structured by the clubs, based on the needs of the clubs
- Allow for College Showcase events and atmosphere that is extremely college coach friendly
In addition, both leagues will give teams pathways to the NPL Finals and Elite National Premier League (ENPL). The Elite National Premier League (ENPL) provides local and national regular-season competition, national showcase events and postseason playoff competition for top teams across the country.
We will continue to support US Youth Soccer and the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association. Teams will still compete in US Youth Soccer – National League and Ohio South State League as they qualify. We also value play in other local leagues such as Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League, Greater Cincinnati Soccer League, and the Elite Players League. Cincinnati Elite FC makes it a priority to place our teams in the best choice of league to give our players optimal growth and development.
