Project Description
Marcel Matis
DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Brief

Marcel had the unique experience to play with the Romanian Youth National Team from the age of 13 to 18 years old. He then made the move to play professionally, finding a home in Cincinnati playing for the Cincinnati Riverhawks, Cincinnati EXCITE and then Cincinnati Kings. Marcel first moved into coaching by spending his last year with Cincinnati Riverhawks as both a player and an assistant coach.
Marcel holds a USSF National “A” coach license. After coaching soccer at the varsity level for Little Miami High School, Marcel has spent the last 14 years in the competitive club soccer environment developing youth athletes to succeed at all levels of soccer, including the high school and college levels.
Marcel spends his downtime running camps for high school and club teams in Southern Ohio and providing personal training in the Cincinnati area. When asked his favorite part of coaching soccer, Marcel’s response is “teaching the boys to do the right thing and play the right way.”
