Alex’s coaching career began young, it all started while in High School at the age of 16 when his younger sister needed a coach for her SAY soccer team. He had always excelled as a player. After four years in the Big Ten at Ohio State, 2-year as the captain and ending as senior MVP. He was then drafted in the 3rd round of the NPSL to start a successful professional soccer career play in the USISL & NPSL.
Along the way, he was coaching and training. Alex was a High School head coach while playing at Ohio State and getting his USSF “A” License at an early age in 1992. He has never stopped coaching from a SAY soccer for all three of his sons to being the head coach of the indoor professional Men’s team, 1790 Cincinnati.
Spent the past 18 years in Cincinnati with one club and running countless other soccer programs in the area. He has built up a massive list of past athletes that he has touched. Ask his wife, Gretchen the most rewarding time and she will quickly reply with “when the trained young athlete’s come around as young adults and give a big hug and smile to the guy who pushed for their success through life’s athletic balance, parents, boyfriends/girlfriends… and everything else in between.”
